Jessica is a Physiotherapist and a Life Coach, a combination that has proven to be effective in empowering people to live their best life. Whether recovering from an acute injury, dealing with chronic pain, or simply just wanting more from life, Jessica has the tools to help her clients reach their goals. For those unsure of what their goals are, Jessica helps her clients discover them in a way that holds meaning and fulfillment for their life.

Jessica graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2003 before pursuing her Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2006. These became her tickets to learn and went on to pursue her certifications in two needling treatments, acupuncture (CAFCI) and Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) through the Gunn Institute. She is also certified in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and uses these tools to help assess her client’s pain in a systematic approach, along with functional movement evaluation before return to sport or activities. Perhaps her greatest tool is the time she takes to educate her clients about their condition and what they need to do outside of her office to ensure they get the most out of her treatments.

As an avid golfer, Jessica has completed her certification through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). This allows her to physically screen golfers for their sport, allowing for greater performance and injury prevention.

Prior to Physiotherapy, Jessica worked for many years as an athletic trainer, primarily with professional and elite lacrosse players. In 2006, Jessica had a paper published in Physical Therapy discussing ACL injury prevention by way of neuromuscular training programs and has since lectured on this topic. As a passionate educator, Jessica has taught in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management at the University of Manitoba and continues to teach and assist courses in Vancouver.

Jessica believes the body and mind cannot be dealt with as separate entities. She has completed the core curriculum through the Coaches Training Institute and uses these tools in a multitude of ways to create connection between physical and emotional health. Factors like sleep and stress are always touched on when she meets a new client and appropriate referrals are made to other health professionals when necessary.

Jessica believes a team approach holds the greatest power for helping people live their best life. She will be in contact with her clients’ doctors, personal trainers, coaches, family members, and other health professionals to ensure they are getting the most of out of their care. Outside of work, Jessica spends time with her horse, out on the golf course, watching sports, or hiking up in the mountains.
